Audi A4 Brake Failure Problem

Written by admin on October 13, 2011 Categories: Main

I have Audi A4, 2003, while driving and without warning, the brake pedal became very difficult to press, as if the servo stopped working, exactly the same syptom as when the engine is not running. The failure is intermittent and very dangerous. Has anyone had this experience, and if so, how was it resolved.

I again called Audi UK to advise them that I had contact with him by the famous BBC consumer (who asked me not to say who they are in the open forum.)

The result was that he asked me the car back to Audi Truro.
Again, water in the servo diagnosed, and said that Great Britain allow Audi knows the problem
    .
And then he said, allow them to carry out repairs, which is free of charge. (As a gesture of goodwill)
They replaced the servo, but the service manager was not happy with the brakes, so I ended up replacing the entire brake system (eg, master cylinder, vacuum tube and valve assembly) were in the car for 5 days and lent miAudi Q5 repairs were performed while ..

The car was returned after all the works have been carried out, fully valeted and service manager went for a test drive, to make sure I was happy with the repair

I must say that this is a complete about face Audi uk and I can not fault the service.

it’s just a shame that it took me a long and stressful campaign to achieve this very successfully.

In the end I was treated in a way that I could expect from a company with the reputation of the Audi.

I wish you all success and now hope that this is a precedent for all others to follow

    Hello

I am experiencing exactly the same problem at the moment I drive audi sport A4TDi, 2002. Several times now my brakes did the same thing – hard pedal went unanswered. That was last week, and the brakes did not come back, I get the car at home using the tools and emergency brake. But the magic in the morning, it is fine again. I had it in the garage most of last week, but they can not find anything wrong. I mentioned in my garage servos but said that if the servo does not, it’s not directly, and can not understand the intermittent problem. The mechanic suggested it could be a problem with the master cylinder, so coming back to me today. But as long as I know, I’m not driving.

If you find anything more I will be really grateful if you want to publish information, and I will do the same. Cheers.

Hi, my 2003 audi A4 brakes stopped working. after 3 visits audi checked all hoses and found a hose from the drain collapsed on itself and broken on the metal tube that is at the top of the collector. The crack was the place, but it was on top of the rubber tube above where metal pipe was consumption. Replaced the hose using a suitable vacuum, because the origial is so thin. The reason the brakes sometimes work because the system has elecvtric backup engine, which can be traced to the front right side of the engine compartment. Two applications of the brakes and electric vacuum roww end. During installation, make sure that the smaller end of the id goes to the vent pipe and larger id inlet pipe goes.

    Hi,

I am glad that the problem of inhibition was determined. I like the information about the new pipe is stronger and Audi probably aware of the problem. After checking the original pipe they semed to not amplify. My next problem is hesitaing CVT so it is scary, and last week it actually slipped at the start. My friend of 04 A4 transmission was replaced under warranty at 35,000 k ….. Time to trade in My 05 Subaru Impreza WRX continues perfectly!

    Yours Paul
